Paige Spiranac Parodies How Her Detractors Thinks She Plays Golf

The former pro golfer turned influencer Paige Spiranac is no stranger to controversy. Her eccentric golf clothes have drawn lovers and haters, but the 30-year-old refuses to surrender. She taunts those who don't take her seriously for wearing athleisure on the links, as if it affects her golf ability.

Spiranac posted a video to Instagram this week wearing a spandex garment and pretending to be inexperienced in the sport. "How people think I play lol," she captioned the video.

"I'm not very good at golf, let me just tee it up," she added, seeming to struggle while crouching down in the super-short dress

which looks to have shorts underneath. "I mean how do I even hold this thing, I don't know!" She faked to whiff the ball before hitting it.

Have you seen that? She jumped up and down with joy, "It went 10 yards!" Spiranac has discussed her criticism response. As a former youth gymnast, she says she wears such clothing to feel comfortable, not for attention.

"When I first started doing this, I wanted to be taken seriously as a professional golfer, and no matter what I did or posted, I'd get hate," she told Twin Talk last October.

"And there was one time where I wore a full turtleneck, leggings, I was completely covered from head to toe, and people were upset with my outfit."

"And I was like, 'OK well clearly, no matter what I wear or what I do, people are going to be upset about it,'" Spiranac continued. "So, I might as well wear what I want and live the life that I want to live

and I have always dressed a very certain way and I think it comes from my gymnastics background of being very comfortable in literally almost nothing."

"And so ... I just said, ‘OK, well I’m just going to do what I want to do, and I’m going wear what I want to wear, and if people like it, great and if they dislike it, OK great,'" said.

Spiranac has been having fun while influencing the public's view of golfers' appearance and attire.
